ePortfolio

E-Portfolio What I have taken away from this course is not only the ability to write with complex thought, but to have the mentality to revise. A good example to display my progress and evolution of my writing skills previously stated is the path that my microtheme took from first draft to final draft. The whole idea of the microtheme is to be a one page paper that addresses a problem, elaborates on it, but does not give a solution. If the problem could be solved in one page of writing, then it is not a big enough problem to address. This meant that I had to put more thought into this paper as a writer. This also meant stepping away from the traditional pro and con writing style that forces a writer to take a side and argue, eventually leading to a proposed solution. In order to do this, I thought for awhile about an issue that not only meant something to me, but also did not already a solution. Ultimately I came to to topic of judgement. This entails the question, why do peop...

Some Puns to Brighten the Day

Chemistry is definitely not my favorite class....but I do love puns and chemistry has some good ones along with some other science puns I found: ~I make chemistry puns, periodically. ~Q: Did you hear oxygen went on a date with potassium?   A: It went OK. ~A photon checks into a hotel and is asked if he needs any help with his luggage. He says, "No, I'm traveling light." ~Q: Why can you never trust atoms?   A: They make up everything! ~Q: What do you call the leader of a biology gang?   A: The nucleus.

Last Day of Chemistry Lab

Today was the last day of chemistry lab for the semester. I had to present a report with my lab partner about comparing citric acid concentrations in beverages (Sprite, Canada Dry, and Barq's Root Beer if you were curious). Needless to say, I'm glad it's over with! Presentation wasn't too bad but could have been better, but the real weight off my shoulders is that I don't have to take a chemistry course for awhile. No more chemistry lab reports!

Cold Weather

As far as I know, yesterday was last warm day for awhile. Looks like we're going to be fluctuating around 30 degrees! Grab a blanket and a hot beverage and prepare to stay indoors for the next 2-3 months! I wish you all the best of luck in this chilling season!

Exam

I took an exam in biology today. I feel like it went well, and I'm excessively happy that it was all multiple choice! Didn't get the chance to study as much as I wanted to for it, but we'll see the results in a day or two when it gets graded-- fingers crossed!

Star Wars

Cant even explain how excited I am for this movie to come out, I already have tickets!

Stress about finals!!!!

With finals coming just around the corner, there is so much work to do in such little time! I can't wait for winter break to just kick back and relax but there's no time to slack off just yet. About to give 110% for one more week and power through!

Quote

Here is a quote from a song that I heard again the other day and always tend to dwell on these words: "You'd have to walk a thousand miles in my shoes, just to see whats its like to be me I'll be you, let's trade shoes, just to see what it'd be like to feel your pain' you feel mine, go inside each other's minds just to see what we find, look at shit through each other's eyes"

Tournament

The Lewis University club volleyball team took a trip to Purdue University in Indiana for a volleyball tournament this past weekend. It was our third tournament of the semester, but also our first two day tournament this semester. It was a great time but also exhausting. Our team played hard and took 2nd place in gold bracket division 2. GO FLYERS!

Christmas is Coming

Went home for the weekend and picked out a Christmas tree. Decorating the tree was a joy as always and we even put of lights on my house. Attaching lights to the roof of our two story hows was riveting and slightly terrifying!

Lights!

We put up Christmas lights in my dorm room after Thanksgiving! really brightens the mod of the room and is easier on the eyes than the ceiling light.
